Kasia Kaczmarek is a Polish-American product designer and ceramicist based in Groningen. Her work spans from functional objects to conceptual rituals, reflecting a practice rooted in both craft and design.
In her artistic work, Kasia explores themes of memory, belonging, and identity through material and ritual. She often works with wild clay that she harvests herself, embracing its unpredictability and embedded histories as a way of grounding her practice in place. Her graduation project, Casting Memories, an interactive ritual installation, was nominated for the Minerva Award for Design and the Minerva Award for Research in Art/Design.
Alongside these explorations, Kasia has developed a range of designed products over the years — objects that prioritize usability, material honesty, and thoughtful detail. Together, these strands form a practice that is both reflective and practical, moving between experimentation and everyday life.
